Shah Rukh Khan, We Know What You Didn't Do This Summer

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan appears to be in Los Angeles on vacation - fast work, he was promoting Jab Harry Met Sejal in Rajasthan just a couple of days ago - and what happens in LA definitely doesn't stay in LA. Not when there's social media around. To be accurate, it's what didn't happen in LA that has made its way onto Shah Rukh Khan's Instagram. "I refrained from smoking even though the area sanctioned it," the 51-year-old star proudly captioned a photograph of himself against a backdrop of sky, palm tree and 'smoking area' sign. SRK, a chain-smoker, has been congratulated in the comments thread by followers, many of them encouraging him to quit altogether.

Unlike half Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has hit USA only now. He did not attend the IIFA Awards held in New York last weekend - a Bollywood extravaganza spanning several days and crowded with actors, many of whom have now dispersed across USA on holiday. SRK went directly to Los Angeles, where his son Aryan, 19, is studying film at the University of Southern California.

Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Harry Met Sejal co-star Anushka Sharma is also in the US - like SRK, she skipped IIFA as well and took a short break with boyfriend Virat Kohli before reporting to the sets of the Sanjay Dutt biopic, in which she has a cameo.

Jab Harry Met Sejal, directed by Imtiaz Ali, stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma as the two eponymous characters. Sejal is Gujarati and Harry, a Punjabi tour guide. SRK was recently made an honorary guide by an association of tour guides based in Jodhpur - that's what he was doing before flying to Los Angeles. The film releases on August 4.
