New Delhi:
RSS on Saturday insisted that none of its leaders were involved in any anti-national activity and rejected reports that the name of one of its top leaders figure in the charge sheet filed in the Ajmer dargah blast.
"We reject the media reports that claim that the name of Indresh Kumar, a senior functionary from New Delhi, features in the Ajmer dargah blast charge sheet," RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav told PTI here.
"It is far from the truth. It will be challenged in the court," he said.
Madhav's comments come in the wake of reports that the chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan ATS mentions Kumar's name.
The charge sheet says Kumar was present at a secret meeting held in a Gujarati guest house in Jaipur on October 31, 2005, in which six other functionaries of the outfit were also present.
Asserting that the RSS never encourages anti-constitutional activity, Madhav said the organisation had "extended cooperation to the investigating agencies and that if any individual was found to be involved then due legal recourse may be taken too".
However, to accuse senior functionaries without verifying facts is unfair, he said, adding that the RSS was for an impartial probe.
On Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's comments that the "RSS should accept the truth which has come out", Madhav said he would not like to react to it.
The ATS had yesterday filed a charge sheet against five 2007 Ajmer blast accused, including Devendra Gupta, allegedly linked to radical Hindu group Abhinav Bharat, accusing them of murder and defiling a place of worship.
The 806-page charge sheet was filed by the Anti-Terrorist Squad in connection with the blast on
the premises of the dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti that left three persons dead and 15 others injured.
