New Delhi:

There seems to be no end to the ongoing crises in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Senior party leader Arun Shourie has unleashed attack on party president Rajnath Singh.

In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Shourie targeted the top leadership of the BJP, saying 'Rajnath is like Alice in Blunderland'.

"Rajnath Singh is like Alice in Blunderland. And the BJP is like a 'kati patang'," said Shourie.

The senior leader has said that the RSS must take over the party, and that the top leadership must be changed.

"BJP should get the top leadership from the states," said Shourie.

And in another startling revelation, Shourie said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had wanted Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to quit.

Reacting to the statements by the former Union minister, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said "Shourie wants to become a martyr".

"We will give Shourie a chance to become popular," said Rudy.

Meanwhile, sources have told NDTV that Shourie is likely to face disciplinary action, and is likely to be expelled next.

Sources have also said that Shourie is upset as his Rajya Sabha term is ending, and was already anticipating disciplinary action, adding that his comments are unacceptable.

This comes just days after the expulsion of senior leader Jaswant Singh over his book on Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
