After Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that he did not need a visa to go to Mumbai, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has dared him to visit the city.
"Let us see how he (Nitish) celebrates
Bihar Din in Mumbai. I don't want to play any politics here...everything was fine and calm, what was the need?
Bihar Din was celebrated on 22nd March and now you want to celebrate it on the 15th," Mr Thackeray said on Thursday during a rally at the
Idgah maidan in the powerloom town of Malegaon.
Mr Thackeray was referring to the Chief Minister's recent comment in Patna where he had said that no one could stop him from going to Mumbai and take part in the
Bihar Divas celebration. "There is no hurdle for me to go there. Can go to any part of the country, don't need any type of visa for that. I am going," Mr Kumar had said when asked about the MNS' reported threat to block the celebrations.
The MNS chief also said that Maharashtra's Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Home Minister R R Patil should ask the Bihar Chief Minister to not celebrate the day in Mumbai.
Mr Kumar had earlier said that he would send his message to the migrants from the state during his scheduled visit to Mumbai.
Bihar Divas is being organised by migrant workers from the state to mark the hundredth anniversary of the creation of the Bihar.
