The Quattrocchi case may finally come to an end on Saturday with a court in the capital to deliver its verdict on CBI's application to withdraw the cases against the Italian businessman.
Earlier this month, the CBI had formally moved an application seeking permission to withdraw all cases against Ottavio Quattrocchi the prime accused in the 64 crore Bofors scam. The Centre had informed the Supreme Court about its decision on September 29.
According to CBI's application there was no evidence against him, the case had been dragging in court for more than 20 years and the Red Corner Notice against Quattrocchi had also not been renewed. Also, attempts to extradite the accused from two different countries had failed.
