Punjab government will set up a committee to regulate school fees and other charges, a senior BJP leader said on Saturday.
BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia said the BJP-SAD state government will constitute a regulatory committee to check the rising fees and other charges in schools across the state.
The decision was taken by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is on a visit to the city, after a meeting over the issue with members and president of parents' association, who were accompanied by Mr Kalia, on Saturday.
To a query, Mr Kalia said Mr Badal had assured that the committee would be set up soon but added that no time framework was set for it.
