New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reportedly met BJP parliamentarians from Maharashtra and Goa and urged them to fulfill the aspirations of the people with dedication and hard work.

According to sources, Mr Modi also told them to convey the central government's policies and initiatives to the public.

The PM reportedly offered tips to the party's lawmakers from Maharashtra in connection with the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

The sentiment amongst the public in Maharashtra is against the Congress, he told them, according to sources.

In the backdrop of its Lok Sabha victory, the BJP hopes to cash in on the positive public sentiment to come back to power in Maharashtra, a state where it has been out of power for the last 15 years.

The Prime Minister has regularly held consultations with his party lawmakers from each state, urging them to work hard in their constituencies and simultaneously raise issues in Parliament. He had earlier met BJP MPs from Rajasthan in this regard.

He had reportedly advised the lawmakers to be punctual in Parliament and speak to media on issues related to them after consulting senior leaders.
