Probe into custodial death in Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the death of a retired teacher in police custody on Friday.

The 61-year-old Haji Yousuf had been handed over to the Crime Branch by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over alleged corruption and blackmail charges.

Yousuf had allegedly taken money from two National Conference leaders with a promise to make them Minister and Member of Legislative Council.

The family of the man has however rejected the charges and protests broke out over the death of Yousuf.
