PM Narendra Modi Addresses Students at the Fudan University in Shanghai: Highlights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Fudan University in Shanghai.

Shanghai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with top Chinese CEOs and addressed the India-China Business Forum in Shanghai. India and China have signed 21 agreements worth $22 billion.

The Prime Minister is at Fudan University for the launch of a Centre for Gandhian & Indian Studies.

Here are the highlights of his speech:
  • Today is historic. I have joined a very auspicious occasion here.
  • Few political leaders have the good fortune of meeting students from Universities outside their country. I thank you for giving me this chance.
  • If you look at the ancient history of China and India, you will see people in both country's were thirsty for knowledge (gyanpipasu).
  • Knowledge about any part of the world helps mankind.
  • Opening doors for business is easy, it is also easy to call tourists but to open the doors of knowledge, one needs great inner strength.
  • Gandhian philosophy can help us in the fight against terrorism and deal with climate change.
  • The 21st century belongs to Asia. India and China together form 1/3 of the world's population.
  • The seeds of our efforts in the present will help the future generations of India and China to further strengthen this relation.
