Posing as advisor to PM, he breached Vaishno Devi security

Jammu: A man who posed as an advisor to the Prime Minister and received VVIP treatment for his journey to the Vaishon Devi shrine has been arrested in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.

He is now in the custody of Tughlak Road police and is being brought to Delhi. Right now he is around Ambala. He is likely to be produced in a Delhi court today.

Introducing himself as Manmohan Singh, the man arrived from Punjab with a hefty entourage that included three Ambassador cars with the red lights that indicate government-VIP status.

He was escorted to J&K by the Punjab police.  He was then escorted by the J&K police from Jammu to Katra and finally to the Vaishon Debi shrine. Special accommodation used usually for the Governor was made available to him.

At Vaishno Devi, he got into a fight with some officials who supervise the shine who asked him to pay for his accommodation.  That's when the authorities got suspicious and called  the Prime Minister's Office to discover that this was an imposter.

Police sources accept this has been a major security breach.

In Jammu he also visited his relative Sonia Kaur, at House Number 104, Sector 11 in Nanak Nagar. Both Sonia and her husband went with him to Katra. Police had made elaborate security arrangements before he visited this Jammu locality. Last night Delhi Police took his custody. His Delhi address is 115-A Fateh Nagar, near Hari Nagar.

The Delhi Police (Tughlakabad police station) had on July 10 registered a case of trespassing against him after complaint from Union Minister Subhodh Kant Sahay.

Apparently he also visited Golden temple two days back but no special security arrangements were made there.
