Various social and political groups in the state are protesting against the government for allowing a religious yatra at Kausar Nag - a pristine spring lake - at an altitude of 12,000 feet on Pirpanjal mountains in South Kashmir.
A Kashmiri Pandit group had decided to start a yatra this year but the locals and political groups strongly opposed the move forcing the administration to disallow the Yatra through Kulgam district route.
The yatra however was allowed through the south of Pirpanjal from Reasi district. The government says it's not a traditional yatra and that those visiting are people belonging to certain communities who have been for the past few years been offering prayers at this place.
