  • The purpose of my being here and participating in the Hannover fair is to highlight that there is more potential in Indo-German economic cooperation.
  • I am here to assure the German companies that India is now a changed country. Our regulatory regime is much more transparent, responsive and stable.
  • We have removed a lot of the regressive taxation regimes.
  • In our very first Budget, we said we will not resort to retrospective taxation.
  • We believe FDI is important which is why we have removed regressive taxation regimes.
  • We have fast tracked approvals in industry and infrastructure. Our growth rate is about 7%.

  • It is the effort of my Government to encourage innovation, R & D and entrepreneurship in the country.

  • I take this opportunity for inviting more and more German companies to India. Assure all support from my side.

  • Let us work together in mutual interest... please don't go by old perceptions.
