Pathankot: The bodies of four of the terrorists who attacked the Pathankot airbase in January were buried last night at an undisclosed location.

Officials of the National Investigation Agency, which is investigating the terror attack, went to the city's civil hospital and took away the bodies.

Sources say the bodies were buried close to where three terrorists involved in an attack last year in Gurdaspur had been buried.

Six terrorists sneaked into India through the border and on January 2, entered the high security base and opened fire. They were all killed by security forces in an 80-hour operation in which seven military personnel were killed.

The bodies of four of the terrorists - two were never found - were brought to the civil hospital morgue on January 6 and had been kept in two big freezers since  then.

The hospital repeatedly told investigators that the bodies had begun to rot and it was impossible to keep them in the morgue anymore.

Last week, a team of investigators visited the hospital and collected DNA samples from the bodies.

A five-member Joint Investigation Team from Pakistan which visited Pathankot in March refused to take the bodies despite such an offer made by the Indian agencies.
