Jammu:

Pakistani rangers violated ceasefire along the International Border in Jammu on Thursday evening - injuring three persons, including a woman - in Arnia sector and prompting the Border Security forces to retaliate.

Besides Arnia, the Rangers resorted to small arms firing on an outpost in RS Pura sector, reported the news agency Press Trust of India.

The BSF personnel fired back. The intermittent exchange of fire is still on.

There have been half-a-dozen ceasefire violations by the Pakistani forces so far this year.

The last occasion was on January 27, when Pakistani Rangers resorted to small arms firing in Arnia.

On January 25, ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India, they resorted to small arms firing along the International Border on Jugnu Chak. Ceasefire violations took place on January 21 and 22 as well.
