NSA against Varun unfortunate: Arjun Singh

New Delhi:

At a time when most voices have been speaking out against him, there was support for Varun Gandhi from veteran Congress leader Arjun Singh.

The senior leader said it was unfortunate that the National Security Act (NSA) was imposed against Varun. The Congress party was quick to react, terming Arjun Singh's remarks his personal ones.

The Congress has been saying it's the state government, that decides on imposing the National Security Act and the Centre has nothing to do with it.

Now, a senior Cabinet minister has clearly spoken out of turn. Is it because his son and daughter were denied Congress tickets to contest the Lok Sabha polls? His daughter Vina Singh has already filed her nomination as an independent candidate from Sidhi.

"What I think of my children is a matter within our family. I will campaign for my party in Sidhi," said Arjun.

The Congress did not waste any time in distancing itself from Arjun Singh's statement.

"It is his personal view. How can I comment on it?" said Congress spokesperson Kapil Sibal.

Arjun Singh called himself a loyal soldier of the party but his latest statement could surely put his party in a spot.
