Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal will share the dias at a function in Patna today, an event considered important to boost Mr Kumar's chances in the coming assembly polls in the state.

Mr Kumar and Mr Kejriwal would be together at a seminar to celebrate completion of four years of Right to Service Act in Bihar, an official statement said on Wednesday.

Mr Kejriwal will be the chief guest at the seminar, it said.

Today's event comes close on the heels of the two leaders sharing platform at a programme in Delhi to honour people excelling in different fields while living in the national capital.

Both chief ministers have come together against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of centre-state relations.

Mr Kumar's Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) did not field any candidate in Delhi election against AAP and JD(U) leaders even campaigned for Mr Kejriwal's party.

Mr Kejriwal reciprocated the gesture by appealing to people from Bihar living in Delhi to impress upon their relatives back home to vote for Mr Kumar in the crucial Bihar assembly election scheduled in September-October.

The presence of Mr Kejriwal is also seen as an attempt to stir youths in favour of Mr Kumar and to boost his image.
