In a late night development, BJP general secretary Arjun Munda met Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren in Ranchi on Sunday.

Munda, who is the BJP's choice for Jharkhand's Chief Minister, is said to have conveyed to Soren his party's formula of a coalition government in Jharkhand.

Soren and Munda have also reportedly discussed the possibilities of running the government by rotation.

Soren wants BJP to lead the government for 28 months and then support a JMM Chief Minister for the remaining 28 months of the state Assembly. The BJP had earlier rejected this. (Read:New government will be on rotational basis: Shibu Soren)

Sources say Soren has assured the JMM core committee on Sunday that he would take a final call on Monday.

It's now more than three weeks that Jharkhand is without a Chief Minister.

Ties between BJP and JMM had come under strain when Jharkhand Shibu Soren voted against BJP sponsored cut motions on April 27. BJP parliamentary Board had decided to withdraw support to Soren government but put it on hold when his son Hemant wrote a letter proposing a BJP-led government.
