Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Was A Staunch Nationalist, Says Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expresses deep sorrow on the death of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

New Delhi:  Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today expressed deep sorrow on the death of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

"Mufti saheb was a staunch nationalist who always worked for the development of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and devoted his entire life for the welfare of the people of all the regions of the state," Mr Gadkari said in a condolence message.

"His death has left a great void in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. Mufti saheb will be remembered as a great son of India," he added.

Mr Sayeed's last rites were performed at his ancestral village in Anantnag's Bijbehara in south Kashmir this evening.
