Mayawati upset about Baba Ramdev sharing stage
New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said on Tuesday that her party was supportive of the black money issue raised by yoga guru Baba Ramdev. However, she did not agree with the way he allowed NDA leaders to make speeches from his platform against other political parties.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said ideally Baba Ramdev should have appealed to all political parties to find a solution in Parliament and make a Lokpal, but "he called a particular party to his stage to abuse another party and I think this way we would not be able to achieve our goal."

"We will support anyone who raises voice against corruption but the way NDA leaders were sitting there, we could smell politics in it. I think his cause is right but the way he had called political leaders, I don't think it is correct," she told reporters in New Delhi.

The BSP leader was asked to comment on Baba Ramdev's claims that he had full support of the BSP on the issue of black money.

Mayawati had on Monday stated that her party would support anyone who is above party politics, agitating against corruption.

On Baba Ramdev's claim about her support, she said, "Yesterday, my statement was being shown in wrong context and Baba Ramdev was also advertising it wrongly till this morning."

The BSP supremo said, "Ideally Baba Ramdev should have appealed all political parties to find a solution in Parliament and make a Lokpal bill.

"He should neither go to NDA nor UPA but seek support from all parties. He should not invite political parties but appeal to them for support as political fronts can never be successful," she said.

Asked if she was satisfied with the steps taken so far by the Centre to address the issue of black money, Mayawati said, "The problem is that the government has not taken any step.

So, there is no question of being satisfied."
