Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party should listen to protesting farmers in Maharashtra and agree to their demands, otherwise their anger will create havoc, the Shiv Sena said today in its mouthpiece Saamana.

The Shiv Sena alleged the government was planning to block Internet in Nashik. Does the government equate "Nashik with unpeaceful Kashmir and protesting farmers with the anti-nationals who throw stones at the Army", the Shiv Sena said.

"The fire of farmers anguish cannot be doused merely by making promises. Monday's Maharashtra bandh was a challenge to the government. If appropriate lessons are not learnt by the government, the lava of farmers' pain will create havoc for it," the Shiv Sena said in its editorial.

The Shiv Sena said the farmers' protest will continue until their demands are met, and the party will support them. The party said violent protests should be seen as an outburst of farmers' anger toward government apathy.

"Will farmers be understood at least now?" the Shiv Sena said, adding the government will start feeling the might of farmers' unity and will have to agree to a farm loan waiver and a good price for their agricultural produce.
