New Delhi: Lalit Modi had apparently given a loan of Rs 11.6 crore to a company run by Dushyant Singh, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who found herself embroiled in the controversy surrounding the former IPL chief yesterday.

Two former directors of a company owned by Mr Modi -- Ananda Heritage --Sajjan Modi and Satya Narayan, are currently under the Enforcement Directorate's scanner over the matter, sources said.

The agency had summoned them for questioning in the first week of July. The company has three directors - Lalit Modi and his wife Minal and Anup Bartoria. This third director was also questioned on March 16, NDTV has learnt.

Sources said between 2007 and 2009, Ananda Heritage had given loan of Rs 11.6 crore to the firm of Dushyant Singh -- starting with an unsecured loan of Rs 3.8 crore in 2007.

The money was apparently invested in the Niyant Heritage Hotel, which the Rajasthan CM's son and his wife had set up in 2005, with Rs 1 lakh. Within three years, the price of each share of the company was found to have gone up from Rs 10 to over Rs 96,000, sources said.

"Lalit Modi's company had also bought a share, which had a face value of Rs 10, at a premium rate of Rs 96,180," alleged Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Raghav Chadha.

Yesterday, Mr Modi dragged in Ms Raje into the row over his travel documents with a shocking disclosure. He had released a set of documents that indicated that Ms Raje had supported his case for immigration in Britain, with a secret statement to British authorities in August 2011.

He had followed it up with an interview to India Today television channel, claiming that he had known Ms Raje for over 30 years, that she was a close friend of his wife Minal, whom she had taken to Portugal for cancer treatment.

Ms Raje has admitted that she knew Lalit Modi, but said she was not aware of the documents. This morning, she rang up BJP chief Amit Shah to explain her side of the story.

Accusing her of being anti-national, the Congress has demanded that Ms Raje step down.
