Hyderabad: Accusing Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi of frequently picking up fight with the Centre, Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh today said such face-offs will have adverse impact on development in the national capital.

"... now, if such a person, who fights throughout the day, comes (to power)... like what happened in Delhi (Arvind) Kejriwal became (Chief Minister), he is fighting all the day with the Government of India. Naturally, it will impact the pace of development," he said.

The Union agriculture minister was speaking at a public meeting in Hyderabad as part of BJP's campaign for the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls.

Pointing out that coordination between the Centre and states is important for faster progress, he said a BJP mayor in Hyderabad will be helpful in development of the city.

Stating that some people asked what was the benefit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving a speech in US, but India's prestige has grown on the world stage now, Mr Singh said the nations which earlier treated India like a younger brother now treat the country as an equal.

PM Modi, he added, is spreading the ideals of India by his visits to different countries.

The beginning of development and welfare programmes like 'Jana Dhan Yojana' and 'Mudra Yojna' will bear fruits in the coming days, he said.

The NDA government also initiated schemes like 'Housing for all' by 2022, making electricity available and the 'smart city' project, he added.

Alleging that many other political leaders focused on strengthening their "dynasty", Mr Singh said that the life of Prime Minister Modi is dedicated to the nation.
