Karnataka Governor will not be recalled, says Chidambaram

New Delhi: The BJP may be pushing for Karnataka governor H R Bhardwaj's recall but the Centre has rejected the demand. Home Minister P Chidambaram said the Governor is just performing his duty.

The Home Minister said that his ministry will send a detailed advisory to the Karnataka govenment on the issues raised by Governor.

He further said that there is no question of recalling the Karnataka Governor.

A confident Karnataka Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa, is set to meet the President on Monday after the Centre rejected Karnataka Governor, HR Bhardwaj's report recommending President's rule in the state.

The Karnataka Chief Minister arrived in the Capital last night with some of his ministers.

"It is the victory of the people of Karnataka. I take this opportunity to thank the honourable Prime Minister and the Union Law Minister to take an appropriate decision," Yeddyurappa said.

But the Karnataka Chief Minister reiterated that he will demand the recall of Governor HR Bhardwaj.

"I am immediately going to request the government to recall the Governor," he said.
