The judge -- who is hearing the Central Bureau of Investigation's case against former minister Dasari Narayan Rao and former lawmaker Naveen Jindal -- did not name anyone. Neither did he reveal what the lawyer said or how he had tried to 'influence' him.

But he said in open court that he had been approached by someone in the past, then had been approached again and also said that heknew tjat someone may attempt to do so again in the future.

His words were directed at the defence team, which was representing high profile clients.

At that point, the prosecution team interrupted to suggest that some action should be taken. But before that, senior defence lawyer N Hariharan apologized on behalf of the entire team and said they would find out who was responsible.

The next hearing in the case will be on June 30, and all accuse have been granted bail.
