Ranchi:
Four people were killed and six others were seriously injured when two motorcycle-borne Maoists targeted an orchestra organised by Umesh Mali, an ex-Maoist, who was later heading a parallel outfit called Sastra People's Morcha (SPM), which is known to be involved in extortion and criminal activities.
Umesh Mali died on the spot. Among those critically injured is a teenaged girl.
The attack took place late on Monday night in Rajpur village of Chatra district.
On Monday, a Naxal commander was killed in a gun battle with a rival group in Beeyar Junga village of Latehar district.
