New Delhi: A team of the Enforcement Directorate is conducting raids in Mumbai, Delhi and Jaipur in connection with alleged betting in Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches.

The raids are related to a case registered by the directorate in March. The first arrests were made after the India Bangladesh match in the ICC Cricket world cup 2015. Two bookies from Vadodara, Tomy Patel and Kiran Mala have revealed names of more bookies during interrogation.

Investigating authorities made more headway on May 9 when two brothers, Ritesh and Ankur Bansal were arrested from Gurgaon. Sources in the agency claim that these brothers are a part of an international cricket betting syndicate spread across India, Dubai and Sharjah.
