Investor Summit 'Resurgent Rajasthan' Set to Kick off Tomorrow

The Resurgent Rajasthan summit is expected to attract investment worth Rs three lakh crore for the state.

Jaipur: The stage is all set for the two-day global investor meet 'Resurgent Rajasthan' beginning tomorrow, which will see participation of top industrialists like Adani Group chief Gautam Adani, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani and Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra.

Aimed at attracting investments to the state, the summit will have exclusive sessions on sectors such as tourism, smart cities, highways and urban infrastructure on the first day and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) the last day.

"The entire exercise of this event is expected to draw investment worth Rs three lakh crore approximately to the state. Many MoUs have already been signed with different industries," said Industry Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.

He said solar energy is where investors have shown interest, followed by mines, petroleum, tourism and urban development.

"Our aim is to bring together leading investors from not just in India, but from all over the world for interacting with policymakers, including the political leadership, government officials and local business leaders, on investment environment and opportunities in Rajasthan," he explained.

Chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Godrej Group Adi Godrej, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Vedanta Group Anil Agarwal are also slated to attend the event.

More than 10 Union ministers are expected to be present at the two-day event.

The summit will feature thematic seminars, conventions, panel discussions, discussion forums, business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, exhibition pavilions and other networking programmes.

A special session, which is to be attended by Union minister Mahesh Sharma, will focus on ways to increase tourism potential of the state.

There will be a session dedicated to the need for a sound policy and regulatory framework and efficient supporting institutions to bring in investments.

On Day two, a conclave will be held on MSMEs, in which Union minister of MSME, Kalraj Mishra will be the Chief Guest.

Other than these sessions, a special cultural evening titled Resurgent Rajasthan Night has been lined up for tomorrow to be held in front of the Rajasthan Assembly building.

The summit will take place at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura. Special security arrangements are also in place.
