New Delhi:
Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held talks with Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi on Friday on the peace process.
A large focus of the discussion was the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
Qureshi has said that New Delhi does not have the luxury of delaying a decision since energy prices are so high.
Both sides also discussed Kashmir with Islamabad emphasising the need for a serious look at the issue and India stressing on fighting terror unambiguously.
With so much internal turmoil in both India and Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers simply got down to some realistic business.
The visiting Pakistani minister, on his first official visit, listed out the doables like Siachen and Sir Creek, but he also made a strong case for speeding up the IPI gas pipeline with a veiled warning.
",We don't have luxury of time to discuss anymore, have to move quickly,", said Qureshi.
While price issues are more or less sorted out, India is still worried about the pipeline's security.
The minister also urged New Delhi to seriously look at the Kashmir issue, saying this was the best opportunity for peace. Whereas, Mukherjee reminded Pakistan of its promises on terrorism.
",No matter what our political differences, we have to fight terror unambiguously,", said Mukherjee.
Even before Friday's meeting, both sides played down expectations of major breakthroughs and with so much political instability in both countries, New delhi and Islamabad have set realistic goals.
