Imran Khan was launched in Bollywood by Aamir Khan in 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na opposite Genelia D'Souza. The film was a critical and commercial success but Imran's follow up films - Kidnap, Luck and I Hate Luv Storys - failed to cement his position in Bollywood.

Delhi Belly (again produced by Aamir Khan), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein are among Imran Khan's other popular films. Imran Khan's last film was 2015's Katti Batti, co-starring Kangana Ranaut. The Nikhil Advani-directed film, which was meant to re-launch Imran's career, tanked at the box office.

Imran Khan is reportedly all set to sign a film with Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films. The dark drama film will apparently be helmed by Raj Singh Chaudhary, who wrote the screenplay of critically acclaimed film Gulaal with Anurag Kashyap.
