I will quit, if party asks: Shobha Karandlaje

Bangalore: Karnataka Minister Shobha Karandlaje, whose scalp is being demanded by the dissidents
gunning for Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's ouster, on Thursday said she would resign "if the party asks for it".

"I am a loyal party worker. If the party wants me to quit, I will oblige", Karandlaje, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, a confidante of Yeddyurappa,
told PTI here.

The rebels led by Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy have alleged excessive interference in administration by Karandlaje, whose removal has been offered by the party central leadership as part of a compromise formula to end the turmoil in the BJP's first government in the south.

Karandlaje, the lone woman minister, said she has not offered to resign on her own "as of now".
