Vijay Kumar, 24, was shopping for text books when two bombs ripped through the busy market in Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar neighbourhood.
Vijay was scheduled to take an exam soon that would qualify him as a sub inspector in the police.
Vijay died in the terror attack.
Two other students also died as bombs strapped to bicycles exploded next to a cinema and a bus stand.
The Prime Minister has vowed "the guilty will not go unpunished" for the "dastardly attack."
On Friday morning, police with cameras, gloves and plastic evidence bags used pointers to search through the debris. Officials from the National Investigation Agency and commandos of the National Security Guards arrived from New Delhi to help with the investigation.
