Shimla: Himachal Pradesh BJP today launched a statewide campaign for ouster of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and said that his decision to continue on the post even after registration of FIR in disproportionate assets case by the CBI has forced the party to reach out to the people and expose his alleged acts of corruption.

The BJP legislature party had decided last week to hold rallies at constituency level from October 8 to October 25, district level rallies from October 9 to November 15, to be followed by a 'Maha Rally' at state capital Shimla to take the battle to its logical ends, party general secretary Randhir Sharma said.

Asking Mr Virbhadra Singh to immediately resign on moral grounds, Mr Sharma said that he should resign first and then give sermons on morality to others and said that by not tendering his resignation, he has done immense harm to Congress party and also to the state.

He said that the Congress leaders know the truth and are aware that his "so called honesty" would be exposed soon and only a few defeated and corrupt partymen who have been obliged by him are backing him but it would not help him.
