New Delhi: The government considers the grievances of people and groups who protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital and takes action as per the guidelines, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

The citizens can lodge their grievances by post, in person or Internet and every Wednesday of the week has been earmarked for receiving and hearing such petitions, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Jitendra Singh, said in a written reply.

"In case a grievance is received from any person sitting on a dharna at the Jantar Mantar, it is also considered and action taken as per the guidelines for the redress of public grievances," Mr Singh said.

He said the government had established an Internet-based Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) in June, 2007, to facilitate citizens to lodge their grievances anytime and from anywhere.

"It enables ministries and departments to take appropriate action and upload the action taken reports on the system. The citizens can view online the status of action taken reports on the system that has provisions for generating reports for monitoring of the grievances," he said.

"CPGRAMS also has a feedback mechanism for rating the satisfaction level of the complainant after redress of his/ her grievances," he added.
