Four arrested from Maharashtra for suspected terror links

Mumbai: Four people were arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad from Nanded district of the state for suspected terror activities, sources said.

According to ATS sources, the four were picked up from various parts of Nanded district following a tip-off about their possible involvement in terror activities.

"We have arrested four persons, who have links with the terror suspects arrested in Bangalore," ATS chief Rakesh Maria said.

However, Mr Maria refused to divulge any further details.

Earlier in the week, 11 people, including a journalist and a junior scientist, were arrested for alleged links to Lashkar-e-Taiba and HuJI. The Karnataka Police claimed to have foiled their plot to target MPs, MLAs and mediapersons in Karnataka.

One more was arrested today in Hyderabad and has been brought to Bangalore for questioning.
