Noida: The Environment Ministry on Friday raided the park in Noida where thousands of trees have been cut to make way for Mayawati's statues.
NDTV's Siddharth Pandey accompanied a team of ministry officials who inspected the site on Friday.
The ministry had ordered an inquiry after residents complained that the park is right next to a sanctuary and is in complete violation of environmental norms.
However, the Supreme Court on Friday refused to stop the construction and asked the petitioner to approach the High Court instead.
The apex court said it cannot interfere in a government decision, and can only intervene if there's any misuse of funds.
