Double win for 'Guruji' Soren

Ranchi:

The wins from both the Dumka Lok Sabha and the Jamtara assembly bypoll seats should be of comfort to JMM supremo Shibu Soren, four months after he was forced to step down as chief minister following his defeat in a bypoll.

Though Soren has yet to comment on his win, senior party leader and former deputy chief minister Sudhir Mahato said, "The JMM will make efforts to bring UPA allies and stake claim to form a government in the state."

Jharkhand is currently under President's rule.

Soren, who was in hospital for about three months soon after he lost the Tamar assembly bypoll and his subsequent resignation in January, proved his opponents wrong that he would bite the dust as he could not campaign for a day.

"We knew all along that the people will not let down our revered Guruji," said another senior JMM leader and former minister Dulal Bhyuan.
