Delhi gang-rape case: Singapore hospital doctors to depose before fast-track court from today
New Delhi: Three doctors of Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital where a medical student gangraped in Delhi died of her injuries will, beginning Monday, depose before a special fast-track court hearing the case.

The doctors, who will depose through video-conferencing, include the one who prepared the 23-year-old student's post-mortem report.

Five men have been charged with the student's gang-rape and murder and are being tried in the special fast-track court. The trial is being held in-camera, meaning the media cannot report the day to day proceedings in detail.

A sixth suspect has been declared a juvenile and will be facing trial before the Juvenile Justice Board.

'Amanat' (NOT her real name) was gang-raped in a moving bus on the night of December 16 last year. She was treated at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital and later shifted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where she died on December 29.

Her death evoked anger and demonstrations across India, with protesters demanding stringent anti-rape laws and better security for women.

The student's family has demanded death penalty for all the six suspects.
