Cracks within the BJP deepens
New Delhi:

Cracks within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are deepening everyday. Now, Jaswant Singh, who criticised several decisions taken by the BJP leadership at a closed-door meeting of the party on Wednesday, has openly questioned the party's defining mantra of Hindutva.

Speaking to NDTV's Barkha Dutt, Jaswant Singh said that the party had no clarity on what Hindutva meant or stood for. He said extreme elements had dented the party's image and it was in danger of becoming a party of yesterday.

And as Jaswant Singh questions what is Hindutva, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on the other hand called up L K Advani to express his dissatisfaction over an article written by senior BJP leader Sudheendra Kulkarni in a magazine. The article blames the BJP hardliners for the party's poll debacle.

Bhagwat has reportedly told Advani that the party must distance itself from Kulkarni. The RSS chief has further said he will handle the issue in the party meet in Delhi scheduled on June 20-21. Kulkarni has been the closest aide to Advani over the last four years.

And now breaking ranks a BJP member has spoken out against the party line on the Women's Reservation Bill. Katiyar says the bill is not acceptable in its present form.
