Bhubaneswar: Concerned over the kidnapping of an Odia man from Sirte in war-devastated Libya, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today asked the Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC) in Delhi to keep in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs on the issue.

"Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik expressed deep concern over the news of kidnapping of one Odia in Libya. The Chief Minister has instructed PRC to be in constant touch with the MEA for early release of Sri Pravas Ranjan Samal," a communication received from the chief minister's office said.

Mr Samal, hailing from Odisha, was among the two Indians who have been abducted in Libya, according to reports.

The other person was Ramamurthy Kosanam, a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
