Charge-sheet has been filed against Tarun Tejpal, says Goa Police: highlights
Panaji: The Goa police have told a court that there is enough evidence that Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal admitted to raping his colleague at a five-star hotel in November. In its charge-sheet filed before a magistrate, police cited proof that Mr Tejpal "admitted commission of rape" in documents, including emails to the woman, and other statements.

  • This is the first case registered by Crime Branch of Goa Policein which the amended sections of laws on crime against women
  • 2846 page chargesheet including  annexures. Whole chargesheet in 12 volumes. Statements of 152 people recorded
  • The special public prosecutor is going to request trial judge to carry out the hearing of the case on a day-to-day basis
  • Civil society came up voluntarily to offer information
  • Express deep gratitude of the crime branch of Delhi Police and Mumbai police for the professional courtesies extended 
  • We will try to complete trial within 60 days as per new rules
  • We got a reply from the attorney of Robert De Niro. He hasn't been able to give a response as he is traveling
