Cerebral malaria hits Bihar: 6 dead, 1500 affected

Patna:

There has been an outbreak of cerebral malaria in Bihar's Munger district. According to initial reports, close to 1,500 people have been affected.

The government says six people have died. But locals say 30 people including 5 children have died. A Central team of 8 doctors are camping in Munger. 

The worst affected are 92 villages of the Haveli Kharagpur sub- division.
