CBI plea against Amit Shah bail in Supreme Court

CBI plea against Amit Shah bail in Supreme Court
New Delhi: Will former Gujarat minister Amit Shah's bail be cancelled?

The Supreme Court will take up the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) plea to cancel bail of former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah in the Shorabuddin fake encounter case.

In its status report, the CBI had indicted Shah and Gujarat police.

CBI also said with the help of Gujarat police Shah got bail and wanted the trial to be shifted to Mumbai. Shah in his reply accused CBI of playing politics in this case.

The Gujarat High Court had granted bail to the former minister and Narendra Modi aide Amit Shah on October 29.

The Supreme Court had directed him to stay away from the state from October 30 till further orders. Amit Shah, through his lawyers, opposed the court's direction for him to stay away from Gujarat but the court said, "It is in your interest if you stay away from Gujarat".

The Court also issued notices to Amit Shah and Gujarat government on why his bail should not be cancelled after the CBI filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the bail and sought an urgent hearing.
