Case against Mulayam for remarks on Ayodhya verdict
Meerut: A case has been registered in a local court in Meerut against Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav accusing him of creating communal discord through his remarks after the Allahabad High Court's verdict on the Ayodhya title suit.

President of the Hindu Maha Sabha's Meerut-wing Ravi Chauhan registered the case against Yadav under IPC Section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) for making a communally sensitive statement a day after the verdict on the Ayodhya title suit was delivered on September 30.

The SP chief had said that he was disappointed after the verdict as he felt the High Court had given priority to "faith" over legal procedures and that the Muslim community felt "cheated" by the verdict.

The case will come up for hearing on October 28.
