New Delhi: Coming out in support of the NDA, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Monday that the bypolls were not a "true reflection" of the reality.

Reacting to questions on the RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance stealing the show in Bihar, he said that bypolls are not a "true reflection of the reality."

Mr Naidu's TDP is part of the BJP-led NDA.

Asked about India deciding against holding Secretary level talks with Pakistan, he said protecting the borders of the country was also important.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited all the SAARC leaders to show his good intentions. But protecting the borders and the country is also important," he said.

Referring to the meeting with PM Modi in New Delhi on Monday, Mr Naidu said he discussed issues relating to the Andra Pradesh Bifurcation Act.

The meeting comes on a day when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has written to Prime Minister Modi expressing her concerns over extending tax benefits to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

"Things were promised in the Act. They have to give it," he said.

Elaborating on the roadmap for the development of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Naidu said he has set vision 2029 with an aim to achieve seven missions. He said that the government is working on attracting investments in tourism, gas and education sectors.

"We want to make Andhra Pradesh into a knowledge hub. We want to offer health and education services," he said pointing out that several corporate hospitals were funded by Andhra Pradesh-based people.
