BJP student wing creates havoc in Bihar
Patna: The student wing of the BJP has been lathicharged in Patna. Twelve students have been arrested, another 12 are reported injured.

Three thousand members of the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ) were protesting against the opening of a branch of the Aligarh Muslim University in Bihar's Kishanganj district, which has a largely Muslim population. They want the university to be opened in Katihar, as planned originally by the Bihar government.

The students could be seen throwing stones at police cars, and trying to force their way past police barricades, to try and meet Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with their charter of demands.

The police retaliated when the students broke the final barricading in Patna's R Block area, close to Nitish Kumar's residence.
