Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today accused the state BJP leaders of always playing divisive politics and dividing the people of the state to meet their political ends.

"Every time the BJP government came to power, it tried to implicate me in false cases but I emerged stronger each time", he said, addressing a public meeting in his Shimla (Rural) assembly constituency in Shimla.

"State BJP leaders have always played divisive politics and divided the people of Himachal Pradesh to meet their political ends," he alleged.

Advising the BJP leaders to accept the truth that present Congress government has ensured all-round and speedy development of all areas of the state and not indulged in character assassination, he said that their propaganda and cheap tactics would no longer work.

He said the people of the country were well educated and would not easily fall prey to the tactics of BJP.

Referring to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), he said that the previous BJP government gave prime land worth crores of rupees for building a five star hotel and cricket stadium in Dharamsala.

The land was shown as barren wherein hundreds of trees were standing on the land, he alleged.

They made a company of HPCA with 25 members and most of them were the relatives of the Dhumals, he claimed and said that HPCA should be registered under the cooperative Act.
