Binayak Sen has emotional reunion with family
Raipur:

It was an emotional reunion with his family for civil rights activist Binayak Sen when he walked out of the Chhattisgarh jail after two years of incarceration.

With tears in her eyes, his daughter Aparajita hugged him as he came out of the jail, where he was lodged for allegedly colluding with certain Naxalite leaders.

"I am too excited about the thought to spend time with him. I am seeing him after a long time," she said after seeing her 59-year-old father, who looked quite frail, but happy.

Aparajita said she would spend time with him at home and take care of the health of her father, himself a trained paediatrician who ran a weekly clinic for the local tribals and was piloting a community-based health programme in the state.

The Supreme Court had on Monday ordered his release on bail after furnishing a personal bond. He was accused by the Chhattisgarh government of having links with Naxal leaders and acting as a courier for one of them.

"I feel I have a threat from the Chhattisgarh government.....I won't elaborate on this as the main focus of my message is that peace should be restored..... there is a state of war in the central part of the country," Sen, clad in a purple khadi kurta, said.
