Bengal Polls: Rahul Gandhi A Kid, Says Trinamool Leader Partha Chatterjee

"They (Congress-CPM) have no political value for the masses," Trinamool leader Partha Chatterjee said.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress today hit back at Rahul Gandhi terming him a "kid" and claimed that Congress will turn into a "signboard party" in West Bengal after the upcoming Assembly election in the state.

"He is a kid, he has come here to help CPI(M). The people of Bengal will give them (Cong and CPI-M) a befitting reply in the polls," Trinamool Congress secretary general Partha Chatterjee said.

"The Congress will turn into a sign board party after the election. They have no political value for the masses," Mr Chatterjee told reporters.

Earlier in the day, MrGandhi attacked the Trinamool government in his election rallies in the districts.

He shared the stage with leaders of the Left Front with which his party has entered into seat-sharing and expressed confidence about forming a coalition government in the state.

Accusing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of unleashing "dictatorship" in the state, Gandhi said the alliance has been stitched to defeat Trinamool Congress in Bengal where "corruption" is rampant.
