Assembly election results: Congress, BJP heavyweights trailing in Delhi; AAP gains

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party's spectacular impact on Delhi elections has resulted in some of the heavyweights from the Congress and the BJP trailing in their constituencies.

According to the trends at around 2 pm, the Congress's Sheila Dikshit, who has resigned as Chief Minister, was trailing behind AAP's chief Arvind Kejriwal. (See pics of counting day)

Her key colleagues in the party, Haroon Yusuf and Kiran Walia, are also trailing in Ballimaran and Malviya Nagar respectively.

The celebrations within the BJP, which is set to return to power after 15 years in the national capital, is also subdued with some of its big faces trailing.

Arti Mehra in Malviya Nagar and Vijender Gupta in New Delhi are trailing.

The AAP has already won 12 seats while the BJP 13 in the results declared at 2.20 pm. The Congress is a distant third with 4 seats won so far.
