Ambani vs Ambani starts from scratch, today

Ambani vs Ambani starts from scratch, today
New Delhi: The court battle between the Ambani brothers begins afresh on Thursday after two Supreme Court judges withdrew on Wednesday from two separate cases, both citing conflict of interest.

Now Justice B Sudershan Reddy has replaced Justice Raveendran. The three-judge Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan will start hearing the RIL-RNRL case afresh.

The high-voltage legal battle between Ambani brothers has entered the third week of hearing.

Justice RV Raveendran, one of the judges hearing the high-profile Ambani vs Ambani case, dropped out of the case on Wednesday.

He said, "I came to know only yesterday that my daughter is associated with a firm which is advising RIL relating to global acquisitions. My conscience is clear that justice should not only be done but is seen to be done."

After reserving his judgement for almost two months, Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju dropped out of a case involving Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Wednesday.

This case is between RIL and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (the government-owned BPCL); the dispute is over the price at which BPCL supplies Naptha to the Reliance plant in Raigad.
